32 teams participated in the 2nd Nomads Invitational Cup on February 2 with teams from four age groups. Nomads fielded 3 teams that reached the finals and a girls’ 2000 team.

Nomads had two teams in the 2003 mixed division, with the Nomads A-team (aka The Little Monkeys) led by Sam Taylor which was defending their title from the previous tournament. ‘The monkeys’ efforts failed losing a very hard fought final against the Corinthians(2-0). The Nomads 2003 B-team led by Dyango Echter grabbed the third place.

The Nomads 1998 team started the day with a loss to Bourne FC.Achievers FC won the finals despite the stellar performance of our home team led Eddie Whitwell.

Nomads also had two teams in the 1996 age category, with the B-team losing out in the quarter-finals to Bourne FC on penalty kicks. The B-team really rose to the occasion on the day with exceptional efforts from Enrique Vazquez, Daniel Edge, Raleigh Reyes, Johann Jacinto and Jack Boswell.

The 1996 A-Team went undefeated en route to the finals, scoring 19 goals and only conceding 3. The team, led by Patrick Gardini and Isaac Dale, dominated the finals against an overmatched Bourne FC team. The game finished 0-0 and went to penalty kicks, where the home team lost in controversial fashion.

The BSM boys team managed to win the 2000 Boys group, with the other BSM team finishing in third place.

All the players, parents and coaches enjoyed a full day of entertaining football, and are already looking forward to the next youth football tournament to be held in Nomads on May 11th.
