Nomads Football Announces PFF Smart National Championship Roster

[10 January 2013-Merville, Paranaque City] Nomad Sports Club, the oldest and most active sports club in the Philippines, has released its 25-man roster for the PFF Smart National Championships.

The team, headed by long-term stalwarts Randy Musters, Steve Borrill, and Phil Connolly has added several new players in an attempt to improve upon its league standing from last year.  With the additions of Adrien Semblat from Kaya, Fidelis Nnabuife from Global and Selu Lozano from Stallions, along with previously unsigned players Bafio Magassa, Mickael Cardoso, and Camille Cremet, Nomads has added experience, speed and depth to their squad from last year.

The roster has a truly international flair with players representing 12 different countries spanning 5 different continents.  There are 6 Filipino, 6 French, and 4 British in a roster that also boasts players from The Netherlands, The United States, Denmark, Spain, Cameroon, Australia, Nigeria, and the Sudan. 

New manager, John Jofre, had this to say about the roster heading into this weekend’s match with Global:” These signings not only give us much more strength of depth in our squad, they also give us more options in terms of shape and formation, and more importantly, they give us a bit more creativity. It will take some time for so many signings to gel, but I am very happy to have such talented players join Nomads”. Veteran goalkeeper Jeffrey Blake added:” We have added some very good signings to the strong core of players that we had last year.  We fully believe that this is the best team that Nomads has ever fielded and we are very excited for Sunday’s match and to get the season started”

Manila Nomads FC takes on Global FC in the round of 16 in the SMART PFF National Championships on Sunday, January 13th at 6:30pm at Rizal Memorial Stadium.
